Yes you set up a good affiliate marketing blog with wordpress. There are lots of tutorials at http://www.realfreetv.blogspot.com that will put exactly where you wanna be.
Do not take into account what others are saying about gurus not letting you to make money. That is bullshit. Anyone can make money with affiliate marketing.
You could decide to start your blog with a $ 100.00 budget to use on PPC. This is the best way to get started. Good sources to start with are http://www.buy.at, http://www.clickbank.com, http://www.cj.com
Visit the above mentioned websites and look for products and or services offering from 50% commission to affiliates.
